Read about the exciting highlights and trends from the Bits & Pretzels startup event in Munich, including the prevalence of AI across different industries and an inspiring speech by Michelle Obama.

We had an amazing time at the Bits & Pretzels startup event in Munich over the past two days! A wide variety of startups from different industries were present. Interestingly, this year, AI appeared to be a prevailing theme among most of them, regardless of their specific sector. Whether they were in green tech, fin tech, health, or logistics, AI was definitely the trend to watch!

We enjoyed connecting with founders, engaging in conversations with numerous startups, and receiving their feedback. We received both positive remarks like "Having an end-to-end platform to hire and relocate tech professionals to Germany is fantastic!" but we also heard preferences like "We would rather work with remote developers." It was truly enlightening to hear different perspectives and insights!

One of the highlights of the event was the finale of the pitching competition, where Maria Zaballos from
EndoGene.Bio gave a stunning presentation of their AI-powered test for early detection of endometriosis. They deservedly won the Golden Pretzel award, and I wish them all the best in their journey to bring their product to market. I hope that in four years, more women will benefit from their breakthrough and get diagnosed sooner.

Finally, the event concluded with an amazing fireside conversation featuring Michelle Obama. She delivered a truly inspiring speech on the significance of our roles as leaders and parents in shaping the next generation. As a mother and co-founder myself, I felt a strong connection to her words and the concept of being there for your family or team, demonstrating vulnerability and embracing imperfections.

I finally made it back to Berlin well past midnight, feeling exhausted but also energized by all the experiences and learnings I had in Munich. It was a great event, and to follow up on all the insights gathered and connections made!
